Fireplace Inserts in Studio City: Written Report, Licensed Technicians

Last fall, a homeowner on a quiet street behind Tujunga Village called us about converting her wood-burning fireplace to gas logs. Two clay tile sections in the mid-flue had shifted at their joints, leaving gaps of roughly a quarter inch. There was also 2nd-degree creosote buildup from her old wood-burning days clinging to the tile walls. None of this was visible from the firebox or the rooftop. The liner bypasses the cracked clay tiles entirely and gives the insert a sealed, code-compliant exhaust path.

We installed a direct-vent gas insert with an efficiency rating above 70%, paired with a properly sized stainless liner that runs from the insert collar to the chimney crown.
